I went back to the Golden Gate Park where I painted a few days earlier. This time I wanted to focus on some very large bushes on the pond. I'm having some challenges with my mid tones. I feel I can grasp the darks and lights, but I'm having a hard time with the subtleties of the mid tones and the transitions to the light and darks.
I've been so worried to make a "shitty" painting that I don't make any. I've allowed my fear of making art to take over for too long. I've reached my breaking point. I came to the realization that I will not be able to make an awesome painting without making a whole lot of shitty paintings. So here I go...no control z...just mineral spirits!

Painting 12: Golden Gate Park Pond
I went back to the Golden Gate Park where I painted a few days earlier. This time I wanted to focus on some very large bushes on the pond. I'm having some challenges with my mid tones. I feel I can grasp the darks and lights, but I'm having a hard time with the subtleties of the mid tones and the transitions to the light and darks.
